Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hardcourt
A comeback the Russian player secured his first trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid season, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's initial trophy since the Italian tournament and first on a hard court from that period of 2023.
Success also means he has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one various tournaments.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters at once, so to get a championship is particularly special," commented tennis professional the champion.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, including in Halle earlier this year.
The player's retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused observers to question if his skill to compete at the top level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, striving to approach the net and perform positively, reinforced by an improved serve.
The champion came back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his first tour title, seized the initiative to force a decider.
The opponent defended 4 early opportunities in a competitive third set before the champion broke to that score to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched victory with a shot at the net area, with his opponent unable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
